Beef Pares

Ingredients

  • beef shin
  • garlic
  • red onion
  • butter
  • bay leaves
  • spring onion
  • five spice
  • beef stock
  • soy sauce
  • oyster sauce
  • fish sauce
  • corn starch
  • rice
  • liquid seasoning
  • dried red chilies
  • brown sugar
  • fried onions
  • noodles

Instructions

  1. 1Cut the beef into small pieces. Brown in a frying pan and set aside.
  2. 2Mince garlic in food processor.
  3. 3Cook minced garlic until golden brown in frying pan.
  4. 4Finely chop red onion.
  5. 5Add chopped red onion, butter and bay leaves to garlic in frying pan.
  6. 6Add five spice, beef stock, browned beef pieces, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and fish sauce. Cover and simmer for about 2 hours.
  7. 7Mix corn starch with a little water and add to frying pan.
  8. 8Cook rice and sauté with minced garlic and liquid seasoning in a pan.
  9. 9Use food processor to mince garlic and dried red chilies.
  10. 10In a pan, sauté the garlic chili mixture. Add oil, brown sugar, soy sauce, liquid seasoning and fried onions. Cook until thickened.
  11. 11Add noodles to a bowl and cover with the simmered beef. Top with spring onions.
  12. 12Serve with the garlic rice and spoon the garlic chili mixture on top.
