Easy Pizza Dough
Prep: 30 minutesCook: 12-15 minutesServings: 1 pizza
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup warm water (100-110°F)(180mL)
- 1 (.25-ounce/7g) packet active dry yeast
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (240g)
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 2 tsp granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- 1In the bowl of your stand mixer or a large bowl, add warm water, yeast, and 1 tsp granulated sugar.
- 2Give it a mix and set aside for 5-7 minutes or until you see a nice foamy head on top.
- 3Add the flour, salt, and 2 tsp sugar.
- 4Pour in the olive oil.
- 5Mix on low for about a minute or until the dough comes together, and then increase speed to medium-low.
- 6Run the mixer for about 5 minutes or until it comes together in a ball with elasticity.
- 7If the dough is too wet, add a tablespoon or two of flour until fixed.
- 8Transfer dough to a lightly oiled bowl.
- 9Turn dough around, so it's oiled all over.
- 10Cover with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and let sit in a warm, cozy place for about an hour or until doubled in size.
- 11Preheat your oven to 450 degrees.
- 12Punch dough down and transfer to a lightly floured countertop or baking sheet.
- 13Spread the dough out into a circle. If you like a thicker crust, keep the circle more compact. If you like a thinner crust, spread it out more. Don't worry about it being a perfect circle.
- 14Spoon on your favorite sauce, leaving a little border for the crust. Add mozzarella or your favorite cheeses and toppings.
- 15Bake at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden, and the cheese is melted and bubbling.
- 16Slice and enjoy!
Tips
- *For a chewier pizza, go for bread flour.
- *For a thinner crisp pizza that has good chew, use double zero flour.
- *If the dough seems dry, add a few tablespoons of warm water in, one at a time, until it comes together.
- *Add a teaspoon of one of your favorite dried herbs for extra crust flavor (rosemary, oregano, Italian seasoning, garlic or onion powder).
