Mirchi Ka Salan Hyderabadi Style

Ingredients

  • Peanuts 50 gm (Roasted)
  • Dry coconut 50 gm (Roasted)
  • Poppy seeds 25 gm (Roasted)
  • Coriander 3 tsp (Roasted)
  • Onion 200 gm (Half fried)
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Big green chilli 200 gm
  • Oil 125 gm
  • Zeera 1 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds Half a tsp
  • Black cumin Half a tsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Ginger-garlic paste
  • Green chillies
  • Turmeric Half a tsp
  • Salt 2 tsp
  • Tamarind pulp One cup
  • Coriander leaves
  • Water Half cup

Instructions

  1. 1First, grind the spices for the recipe: roasted peanuts, roasted dry coconut, roasted poppy seeds, roasted coriander, half-fried onion.
  2. 2Take a container and add some oil to it. After the oil gets hot add big green chilies and sauté them until they turn a little brown. Remove them and set them aside.
  3. 3In the same container add more oil, followed by zeera, rai, methi, black cumin, curry leaves, ginger-garlic paste, green chillies and turmeric. Saute well.
  4. 4Add the spice mix from step 1 along with some water. Then add salt to taste. Leave this to cook for a while.
  5. 5After this, add tamarind pulp, sauteed green chillies, coriander and curry leaves. Add a little bit of water and leave it to simmer for a bit.
  6. 6The oil has now floated to the top and the salan is ready. Serve with biryani and enjoy!
